The Government of Akwa Ibom State has announced its plans to partner with Bertola Machine Tool Limited to boost food production through mechanized farming with modern agricultural equipment.
Partnering with Bertola Machine-Tool Ltd is the initiative of the State Government in alignment with its goal to realize the agricultural revolution outlined in the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno’s administration.
During a recent visit to Bertola’s facility located at Ifa Atai, Airport Road, Uyo, Governor Eno emphasized that the partnership with Bertola is crucial as the government prepares to launch equipment leasing services. These services aim to make essential farming machinery accessible to farmers across the state, supporting the government’s broader agricultural revolution and food sufficiency goals.
The governor praised Bertola Machine Tool Limited for its longstanding reputation in the equipment and machinery industry, noting the company’s integrity and consistency in service delivery nationwide.
He instructed the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Offiong Offor, and the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Professor Eno Ibanga, to develop a framework for the state’s partnership with Bertola, ensuring that farmers in Akwa Ibom have access to essential farm machinery.

“As part of our agricultural revolution, we are establishing an equipment leasing company to support farmers in Akwa Ibom. That is why we are here,” Governor Eno stated. “We are committed to our agricultural revolution, and when someone has the resources to help achieve this vision, we must support them.”
